The weekend before Leo headed back to work we headed to the western slope for a camping weekend. Our destination was Rifle Falls State Park. It was a beautiful weekend:)
Here are the falls. Gorgeous!
My camper!
Adrian was loving life being able to have a fire! Too bad we left the dutch ovens at home because we did not know that the fire bans had been lifted a few hours before we left. Adrian is so into getting his picture taken that he is oblivious to his marshmallow burning:)
I think that Lorelei just likes camping for the marshmallows.... she takes them straight up... no smores needed for this lady
But we did find out that she is a bit of a pyromaniac. If she could have jumped into the fire she would have
Not a bad sunset
Good morning campers!!!
A little fishing with daddy
Learning about owls from one of the state park rangers
On an evening walk to the falls
The falls were surrounded by these little caves that Adrian loved exploring! I think that we were talking about bats during this picture.... he is a bit cautious at times:)
Getting ready to explore with flashlights and headlamps
Adrian and Leo behind the falls
Lorelei just chillin with her bowl of popcorn after I dosed her with benadryl. Bugs love Lorelei but she does not love them! She had some pretty kickin welts from bites, poor thing.
On our way home we made a pit stop at Glenwood hot springs. Surprisingly, leo had 2 black toes from his recent hike and after we got out he only had one.... the healing powers of the springs I guess. We each went down the big slide in the back with Adrian once. I don't know that he is going to be a thrill seeker. He was more of a kids pool kid of guy. He wanted to go to the pool that was "just mine size".
Kickin' it at the kids pool with daddy
And nothing finishes a hot weekend better than a watermelon pop.
Lorelei wondering how on earth her big brother is managing to eat his so fast?!?!
