After a long drive with Leo behind the big rig we arrived at our new home and are now officially the mile high sooners! With the help of the Seibold clan we are pretty much settled in and enjoying our new home. My sister asked if it felt like a home yet and my reply was that it feels like a home....just a messy one:) Hopefully that will change after a few more days. The past week we went to see the Rockies with great tickets behind home plate (Great job Leo), toured the mint and Coors brewery, rode an alpine slide, hiked around Garden of the gods, ate some Colorado style pizza at Beau Jo's in Idaho Springs, and took the fam down some white water rapids near the Royal Gorge. We worked hard and played hard! Thanks to both sides of the family for all of your help with the moves, from moving from Carlton Way to loading and unloading the truck... it was all greatly appreciated! More pics to come....stay tuned:)

Happy belated Fathers Day
In honor of father's day I thought that I would let everyone in on one of the many reasons that I love my dad. While we have been living at my parents house we have been more involved in their daily routine. Part of that routine lately is a morning squirrel hunt. You see...my dad has a love hate relationship with the squirrels that roam our neighborhood and the man that once set up toys for them to play with in the backyard recently had a drastic change of heart when the creatures of the yard dug up his newly planted perennials. Then squirrel season was opened! So now Leo, my dad and I have each taken our shots with the pellet gun, that has a scope I might add, in the backyard to my mother's embarrassment:) It really surprised Leo the day he came home and found my dad with a gun in the backyard. He said "it just surprises me because this is the same guy that tried to give mouth to mouth to one of Laura's basset hound's puppies." He is full of surprises! Below is a pic of my dad with a recent kill.
This weekend we also went down to L-town for our last Okie weekend. We got to see Jake off and back to active duty in Afghanistan, I got to see my first calf get a pedicure (which is more expensive than for me to get a pedicure by the way), and realized that it is probably not the best idea to jump off of the roof into the pool in the heat of the day....tar gets H-O-T! We also installed one of my dad's wind sculptures that we had made as his apprentices at Leo's parents this weekend. I think that it looks pretty spiffy if I don't say so myself.

Happy Birthday Leo!!!!
We spent this weekend celebrating Leo's birthday at Lake Tenkiller with my parents and Leo's brother Jake.

...well, Leo got to relax until he got called into the hospital Saturday afternoon to fill in for another doc and had to pull an all night shift on his birthday:( Not the way we planned on having him celebrate but he is such a trooper! He got some great skiing in though before he left along with a friendly family ladder golf competition. Both he and Jake were really getting the hang of skiing! You could see the determination and brotherly competition in their eyes. Jake would manage to pretty much fall on his skis two times and regain control on a turn before the third hit would finally take him down. I called it the Jake butt bounce effect.... it did not look comfortable. But by the end of the first day they were doing great and even braving a little bit of wake jumping by the end. I however only remembered the camera for the first day (I was planning on before and after footage) so here is video of their first attempts in the water.
Jake's first attempts
Leo's first attempts
Cliff Jumping. The first jumper is my dad (he is the big splash right at the beginning), then Jake, then the two of us with the scream of terror coming from Leo....just kidding!

No worms, No wimps, No worries
If you know me you also know that I am a huge fan of documentary films with one of my absolute favs being Okie Noodling. It is a FaNtAsTiC film that highlights a part of redneck Oklahoma culture....how can you not love that?! I think that the best line in the movie, besides the incessant "block the hole, Block The d**n Whole!!", is (said with your best okie twang) "my granddaddy was a noodler, my daddy was noodler, and I am teachin' jr here to be a noodler." It is just great stuff! So you can understand my excitement when I found out last night that they are coming out with, you guessed it, Okie Noodling II!!! I am so pumped! It has a lot of expectations to live up to but I am sure that Brad Beasley has done a bang up job. Below is a picture of us dressed up on Halloween, Leo as the bike cop from Reno 911 and myself as none other than a salt of the earth noodler.... that is Katherine the catfish if anyone wondered my friends name.
Remember... no bait, no hooks, no fear.... a noodlers moto:)
