Leo takes the final step
For the next two days of this week keep Leo in your thoughts and prayers because he is taking the long final step to becoming a full fledged practicing physician. That is right ladies and gents....he is taking Step III! Step III is a monster test that is two grueling days of endless medical questions and cases that I am sure he will ace with flying colors! So basically he gets to sit taking an exam for 8 hours with no huge sigh of relief at the end of the day because the next morning he gets to wake up and do it all over again. It is a wonder that we have any physicians in this world with everything that they have to go through. Go get 'em babe!!

Are there ticks in Vegas?
This weekend I am SoOo pumped for one of my very best gal pals bachelorette parties!!! Las Vegas here we come!!! And hopefully for the sake of Miss APM, soon to be Miss APS, her bachelorette party will have a very different feel than my celebration. I cannot help but give you all an excerpt from APM's chronicle of my B-party that describes the scene after we had discovered the very pregnant Laura on the side of the road and the mud stuck car in the woods by the cabin that we could not unlock and made our way to the local Holiday Inn...it just brings a smile to my face....the mud, the ticks, the river....ahhhh....great memories!!
"Gretchen was hiding in the bathroom, while the sisters Imel decorated the room, as they had intended to decorate the ‘rustic’ cabin. It was then that I felt it. There on the small of my back, a small ‘mole’ that had never been there before. I had the sinking
sensation this wasn’t a mole after all. “Missy, what is this?” I ask. Ok, total lie. I think it went more like this: “OH MY GOSH WHAT IS THIS? OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOOOOOOSHH!” To which Missy responded: “A tattoo?” Well, it turns out 
that just north of my tattoo was in fact a tick. After summoning Gretchen from the bathroom (“GRETTCCHEEENNN HELPPPP MEEEEEEE”), Gretchen and Dr. Laura teamed up to remove the offending parasite from my backside. I don’t care if Laura says they don’t 
teach that stuff in Medical School, I think she did a bang up job of getting rid of the little sucker. Oh and the 5 that had taken up residence on her own belly! We then proceeded to drink wine, open presents, gossip and have a great night. Yes we found a few more ticks, but we were having so much fun we hardly noticed!"

The first of many....
We are taking the first step in preparing for our big move to Denver by creating a blog for our family and friends that are far away. We know that we are both of our families favorite children and that it will be extremely hard for them as we move to another state;) In an effort to ease this pain we decided that a blog might be a fun thing to try to post all of our adventures through the Rocky Mountains!
However, for now all we have to post is Oklahoma mountains... that is right.... we have mountains in Oklahoma! They may not be as big as they Rockies but technically they are mountains. Over the Easter holiday the S clan headed out to the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge for some hiking, fishing, and a cookout. We started off hiking Elk Mountain with everyone...even the preggo sister in law was up to the challenge:) After that we hung out roasting hot dogs and s'mores. Easter was great with both families! I think that Leo and I are both enjoying our last holidays here in Oklahoma without traveling and having to split time between Oklahoma City and Lawton.
On a different subject… those of you who are reading this know me well enough to not be surprised by the fact that I went to clown camp as a kid. That being said this weekend was the return of Gretchen the clown and all of her balloon animal wonder! Leo is SO proud;) I figure that with my balloon animals, his juggling skills, and Missy on the unicycle we are pretty much ready to hit the family circus circuit. And for all other family members reading we are still looking for a magician, fire breather, and a flying trapeze performer to complete the act. I think that tonight I will go hit up the hospital where my grandma is to spread some ballooning cheer (please keep her in your prayers for a speedy recovery). Stay tuned for our touring schedule nearest you!
